The Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia, Inc. is the local chapter of the Financial Planning Association that serves not only Richmond, Virginia and the surrounding localities but also serves the greater part of the State extending from West Williamsburg to the West Virginia border and from Southern Fredericksburg to the North Carolina border. The Financial Planning Association is the membership organization for the financial planning community. It was created when the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) and the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP) unified on January 1, 2000.
The primary aim of the Financial Planning Association is to be the community that fosters the value of financial planning and advances the financial planning profession. FPA's strategy to accomplish its objectives involves welcoming all those who advance the financial planning process and promoting the CFP® mark as the cornerstone of the financial planning profession.
